Greetings & Ministry Reflections from the President of APBF

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is
for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own
Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with
him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:31, 32 NIV).

Dearly beloved APBFers,

Warm greetings! I trust that this letter finds you in good health and enjoying the wonderful grace of God almighty!

I am so glad to once again be able to write to you. This is the least I can do though I would rather be there physically at your meetings, conferences and general assemblies. COVID-19 has brought much difficulties, disruptions, distractions, discouragement, disasters, dangers and even death in our lives or some people we know but thanks be to God, we are still alive and today is a brand new day and the sun shines again! May I exhort us to delight in the beauty of God’s love for us and His ever watchful eyes on our entire being because even the strain of hair from our head falls, He knows it altogether!

In the midst of all the hardships, let us look up to God and look forward to the outpouring of His mercy and grace upon us! And look around us, and see if there is anyway and anything we can do to help someone in his/her predicament! APBF is currently trying to raise USD 500,000 to assist those who are affected by this pandemic. I trust that you or your church or some people you know who can do their part in big or small ways will contribute towards this fund. Together, we are strong as we face our fears and dangers together.

Please know that during this period, the APBF Execom gathered via zoom to pray for you and also make plans to raise the funds to help elevate the situation for many. ABWU has also done some outstanding things. You will see in their Facebook the many ladies and families they had helped. I am sure the BWP is doing their best to bless our Pacific family too.

Though unable to visit and to speak at the assemblies, conferences and meetings, I was privileged to be invited on a few occasions by the Indian Baptists Churches, the Telegana Baptist Convention and the Union of Indonesian Baptist Churches to send greetings at their anniversary celebrations or to speak to their meetings via zoom. What a great joy and privilege it was to be able to connect
with one another using technology.

The APBF staff also produced a lovely video clip entitled “Hope in Christ in the midst of the Pandemic” using talents all across our regions. We have a message of hope anchored in Christ the Rock. With Christ the Captain in our boat, though it may rock and roll, but it will never topple or fall because Christ is with us! With Him helming our life and life’s situations, we can be safe and secured. You can be sure He will never leave or abandon you and me. So, don’t ever forget that Christ is with us, He is for us, and He will see us through! His love for us is greater than the pain and suffering we are going through. Let us join hands and hearts to pray and trust God for a vaccine or cure and to restore the earth. Until then, let us place our hope in Christ for He never fails.
