Besides being a pastor and a lecturer, he has served as a church planter and has helped with two church plants before he was called to serve as senior pastor at First Baptist Church Bandung. It may be noted that the First Baptist Church Bandung is the the “first” Baptist church planted in Indonesia by the missionaries sent by the International Mission Board of Southern Baptists.

In this role as senior pastor, he has led this multi-staff church to be involved in Missions. Through his leadership the church has planted 9 new churches in various areas of Indonesia, where two of those church plants is directly in an Unreached People’s Group, and significantly one being in an Unengaged Unreached People’s Group. He has also been involved with the ASEAN Senders lead team – a collaboration of Conventions and Missions Organizations in the ASEAN region and has also birthed new partnerships in uniting conventions, churches in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. He has also served with the Union of Indonesian Baptist Churches as International Partnership Coordinator for 10 years  now. His role as a pastor, lecturer and trainer has led him to speak in numerous conferences and churches in the area of leadership, education and missions.

Internationally, Ardi has been involved with the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation since 2010 focusing his ministries in the APBF Youth Department as an executive member of the Asia Pacific Baptist Youths, resource person, and has been involved with the APBF in various capacities. His life vision of "to know Christ more, and that more may know Christ," has been foundational in taking the role of APBF Director of Missions in which a wider scope of ministry can be done together in unity with all of APBF member bodies.

He comes into the position of APBF Director of Missions with passion, excitement and a vision to enlarge, strengthen the Baptist network in the region, collaborate with more than 22,000 churches in the fulfillment of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

It is with this deep desire that Ardi calls upon convention, churches, missions organizations to unite, support and serve together as partners in the extension of God’s kingdom here on earth.
