Health & Humanitarian Disaster Appeal For Asia Pacific
It’s not just a health disaster but a humanitarian disaster of global proportions the world has never experienced. Health systems across the world are being overwhelmed. Economies are going into major recession.
The pandemic has now reached some of the world’s most poverty-stricken and conflict-ravaged communities. Asia Pacific has some of the most densely populated and poverty stricken countries. It is also the 10/40 window of disasters and any natural disaster that hits the region in the immediate future will plunge communities into further abject need.
It is said that an estimated 740 million girls have been forced out of education due to the pandemic.
It is said that this disaster will send more than 500 million people into poverty.
It is feared that the gains of development and employment that was built up over decades will be retarded by at least 20 years!
APBF therefore is launching an appeal to raise a sum of US$ 500,000. With which we envisage to support at least 15 or more partners in the Asia Pacific region.
Your donation to this appeal will support immediate and long-term relief and recovery in vulnerable communities during one of the most challenging times we have collectively faced.
Your individual contribution of
$5 - Will provide two meals for a vulnerable family
$25 - Will provide masks for our partner’s service teams to protect themselves and the communities
$50 - Will provide psycho-social activity packs for children in lockdown
$100 - Will support a family with enough food for a month in lockdown
$250 - Will provide a hand washing station to a public location
$500 - Will provide a family with livelihood support to restart their lives
$750 - Will provide resources to carry out community awareness programmes for protection
$1000 - Will provide a self-help group of 20 families with a cash injection to revive their activities OR will provide medical needs to a medical care facility
$1500 - Will provide a small business entrepreneur with a recovery support grant for his/her business
