The Sultan is also the Governor of the Yogyakarta Special Region. However, due to an urgent assignment to represent the country to Japan, the Sultan had to travel. The Vice Governor (Vice Sultan), His Highness KGPAA Paku Alam X gave the APBF delegation a very warm and gracious reception.

He listened intently to the delegation and affirmed APBF’s appreciation for the liberal and tolerant approach to all religions in Yogyakarta Special Region. His highness expressed his joy to hear about the upcoming 9th APBF Congress and warmly welcomed delegates from the Asia Pacific region to Yogyakarta and assured us of all possible help. It was encouraging to know that from the Vice Governor that he used to visit the library of a Baptist Student center when he was a young man.

The visit to Sultan was followed by a visit to the office of the Mayor of Yogyakarta city. At both the meetings, we concluded by the President of the UIBC praying for the dignitaries.
