The Asia-Pacific Baptist Youth (APBY) Conference is the quadrennial gathering of Baptist youth and youth leaders in the Asia Pacific region. The APBY is an adjunct ministry of the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) which is an organization of Baptist congregations that spans over 20 countries in the Asia Pacific region. The conference aims to gather the youth of these nations, foremost under the banner of Christ, and the Baptist church.
In 2019, the APBY Conference will be held in Baguio City, Philippines at the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary. The conference will be hosted by iDISCIPLE Philippines, which is the youth department of the Luzon Convention of Southern Baptist Churches. Baguio is the summer capital of the Philippines, known for its cool mountain weather and pine trees. Up in the mountains, nestled in the Guisad Valley, the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary campus covers 3 hectares of academic facilities which is perfect for the 2019 conference.
The theme for the APBY Conference 2019 will be "Making and Multiplying Disciples" (#MD2), seeking for the youth in our churches to be involved in disciple-making – guiding others to follow and obey Christ, and being zealous in mobilizing others to make disciples in their schools, cities, and countries. The plenaries and workshop tracks will be targeted at equipping the region’s youth in obeying the Great Commission and making the Gospel their passion.
The Asia Pacific Baptist Youth (APBY) is an organization of Baptist Youth in various churches and Baptist groups under the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF). APBY seeks to build a network among Baptists, regionally, with the aim to promote fellowship, provide training and be challenged to respond to various needs of young people in our region. Once every five years, the APBY comes together for a gathering called the APBY Conference to celebrate God’s work among the Baptists in Asia-Pacific continent.
The Asia Pacific Baptist Federation is the regional organization of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA), a worldwide fellowship of churches that subscribe to Baptist distinctives. The APBF represents almost 60 Baptist denominations (known as conventions) from 20 different countries, encompassing almost 30,000 congregations with more than 5 million baptized believers.
